Membership
Drivers are strongly encouraged to join one of the four host clubs, but not required to do so.
Classes
NCAC points may be earned in PRO class, Street Tire, or any of the SCCA Solo-II classes including the Ladies classes, except those requiring karts such as FJ or F125. Additionally, NCAC will recognize those running in the new SM2 and STX classes. Clubs may chose to run additional classes, such as FJ and Novice. However, participants in these classes will not earn NCAC points.
Street Tires have a minimum treadwear rating of 140.
Bumping
If clubs choose to combine classes or "bump" for event trophies, NCAC points will still be awarded as if no bumping had occurred. For example, if all Ladies classes are combined for trophy purposes at an event, NCAC points will still be awarded for each Ladies class, as if the classes had never been combined.
Scoring
Points for each event will be awarded 9-6-4-3-2-1-1-1... (9 for first, 6 for second, 1 for sixth or lower). A driver must begin at least one run at an event to earn points at that event. (If all runs are DNS, no points.) Points earned in one class will not be transfered to another class. Drivers cannot earn points in more than one class at any given event. Ties will be broken by comparing head-to-head results. For example, if two or more drivers each earn the same number of points in their best three events, the driver who beat the other driver the most times during the season will be the winner of that position. If those drivers beat each other an equal number of times, the position will stand as a tie.
Participation
In any class, a driver must participate in more than half of the events to be eligible for a year-end trophy. Points from each driver's best three 2002 NCAC events will count toward the year-end total.
RTP Classes
PRO class will be scored by RTP factor.
Sponsor Decals
All competitors are required to display the following stickers on their vehicle during competition in order to earn points:
